Easton Garlic Fest would like to acknowledge the passing of Roman Osadca, a vendor at Easton Garlic Fest and a Garlic icon in the Northeast. We asked Steven Price, a comrade in garlic, to write a tribute:
"In my 65 years of life there have been a few memorable characters I have met but Roman Osadca was definitely one of them. I first met Roman in 2013. I was in pharmaceuticals and looking to retire soon and do a little garlic farming. I saw on LinkedIn that Roman was in pharma and now an expert in garlic so I reached out to him to meet. We set up a meeting at his farm for an hour which turned into well over 4. I learned so much from him that day and many days since. He was always open to questions and loved to teach you about the intricacies of growing garlic. I loved to bounce ideas off of him.
He was well loved in the garlic community and I’m sure with everyone he came in contact with. Many a day at local farmers markets I would talk to people about garlic and one question I would always get is….”Oh, Do you know a guy by the name of Roman and is a garlic expert?”
